VALRHONA

O-M-G. I have just found my new favorite chocolate.
Sexy name for a sexy chocolate.

I am sitting here, savoring the little square I broke off of my first ever bar of Valrhona.. and I am finding it hard to concentrate on anything else but how envious the rest of my body is at the extasy my tastebuds are experiencing right now. Rich, bittersweet velvet slowly melting and wrapping itself around my tongue... deceiving me at first with a pinch of cool sweetness, then the rush of the heat of lush strong pure decadent chocolate... am I blushing??

I've heard of this chocolate before, but have never tried it until now, thinking, "Could it really be that much better than Lindt?"... considering that its about twice as much per bar... I couldnt justify it.

Okay I've changed my mind. This stuff makes Lindt taste like Hersheys. They actually make vintages of their chocolates... based on region and year grown, like wine. These people are serious about their chocolate and it shows.

I'm gonna return to my orgasmic moment now. Thank you.

No, I don't believe you! There's nothing that could make Lindt taste like Hersheys!

I'd better go find some of this stuff!.

Valrhona is by far the best chocolate I've cooked with. I make molten chocolate souffles and stick a good hunk of val in the middle before cooking. I've never had a problem finding it once I tasted it. Bristol Farms, Gelsons and Vons Pavilions carry it.

lea, World Market is also known as Cost Plus in the western area of the US. World Market is a wonderful place to buy wine at a quite reasonable price.

I've tried Valhrona but since I'm not that much of a dark chocolate fan, I was slightly less ograsmic that you are (lucky girl!) about it. Actually I had a lindt bar recently and I have to say their quality (in Italy only?) seems to have gone way down, waxy, too sweet. Almost Hershey-ish.

Okay, so what I want to know is, why didn't I get to try any? >_< Keeping at work so I don't get any, are we? LOL.

As for Greg and Hershey's, this guy wouldn't know good chocolate if it came and smacked him upside the head.

It's a cruel thing to say, I know, but American chocolate is very blah! European chocolate is definitely where it's at and I'm not being biased, honest. It really is that much better!
